Just got myself a pair of those Mojiko waders on sale through ebay 25% off. I didn't upsize them and find I still have reasonable movement in the feet with thick socks on. They're a snug fit over my scottish highlander thighs and calves though and I don't like a firm fit but they're not uncomfortably so. They'll probably give a little. They are very warm so I'm not sure about wearing them in summer I was sweating heaps after wearing them around the house. I was trying to look sexy in them but my missus wasn't having a bar of it so I'll have to grab the fly rod instead. You can roll the top down to the waist alright if warm but you'll have a bit of bulk to work around if you want to dig like that. I was thinking about sending them back and going for one size up but there may then be too much room in the boot for my liking so I'll stick with what I have for now.

In summer i use thin vinyl ones just for the leaches if i am wading around in deep water all day.

In winter the neoprene ones keep you warm and dry

Leaches was one of the reasons I got them so will have to look at something for summer. I just realised Anaconda is in Canberra :8 so I could have tried the various sizes on.

Spot on mate, that's the way i see it also. I hear these are good for repair of vinyl waders.

Boxer Adhesives Peel & Stick Vinyl Plastic Pool Patch

zodiac inflatable boat repair kits work well.

Thanks mate. Yep there's nothing like climbing out of a hole with Leaches hanging of you every where, :D

As you can see by my avatar i'm a chesty fan. The amount of times i've gone bum over *** in the bush, crawled around muddy holes scratching for gold, or just plain needed to cross a river area waist high....there is no substitute for the neoprene chesty.....not the loose style that fills up with water if you fall in the drink.

They are comfortable and keep u dry and also keep u safe from nasty scratches and awkward falls. I may look funny on a 35 degree day in the middle of the bush and people might say "aren't u hot in that", well not really, super comfortable I say. Usually those people that don't like chesty's, just haven't worn a good set. Def without boots though, use your own hiking boots!

i did that last weekend , calmly walked out of the river and sprinkled salt on the leaches all over my arms and hands ..... my missus screamed her titzz off ( first time i took her prospecting )

i was nervous for a couple of hours waiting for the cops to come charging up the valley. :8

Do a lot of beach fishing and seen a good few people get swamped in full waders and even the thigh ones...

Many do not secure correctly and if they fill up... Your in BIG trouble.

Have watched a few come close to being drowned even in shallow water, get knocked down and can not get up with waves and the white water..

Wetsuit of the right thickness and a variety of types available... Foot ware to match..

OR

as posted above...

I have chest high and when around water over hip
height wear an inflatable life jacket. Even beach fishing.
Went prawning one night and stepped into a deep mud hole.
Just bobbed around a bit before my mate came to help me.
.
Some of them laughed at me for wearing a life jacket.
Didn't after it happened.
Dried out a bit, repacked the life jacket with a new canister,
Back at it again. :) :)

Couple of quick points, experience of many years flopping around in water trout fishing, not so many prospecting, but....

If you are built like me with a mature sort of sexy shape with ample fuel reserves in the middle, then you will go crazy with trying to keep thigh waders up, and they will win at pulling your trousers down.

If you are a lazy sod, and i guess this is partly how you got that sexy shape, then with thigh waders your arse is going to be wet. At least you can have a sit on a rock or log in chest waders and keep dry.

I have the older Snowbee ones and I have sat in the middle of a creek in winter completely
oblivious to the cold water. LOL
But not the right thing to wear on a 45 degree day though.
Stuff I cooked.

Just a heads up - those neoprene chest waders are 30% off in the current Anaconda catalogue which I think runs until next Sunday.

So I assume that with the Neoprene ones from Anaconda, once you go above the level of the gum boots, you are getting wet then? Doesn't that sort of defeat the purpose of wearing them in the first place?

not sure where you got that idea from? they are a one piece right up to your armpits. the boots are inside the waders

Also the shoulder straps are velcro so you can undo get the top down to waist level quickly if you are involuntarily taking a swim.

yep, theyare easily the fastest bailout waders ive had. especially when you're covered in mud., just drop them and step out, hang on the line and hose :) and they come with a "good" carry bag the only one ive ever kept.

so they pack down to the size of a milk crate perfectly...

I am in need of some waders , going to buy but so many types,,,give me some feed back ,,,long , short ,just leg type ????????neoprene or nylon phurk what a //////
so if I get the right info maybe I can choose the best ,,,,,
