Solar Flare..... the Chinese Space Program produced a Chillie variety up there in orbit, then subsequently returned seeds to Earth propper. Growing them on. So I have been told by my back neighbour a long while back when he was passing over some of the fruit to me of that very variety.
Only one has poked its flarey head up

Getting the new vege patch up and going with raised beds and a bit of timber under everything. Should have a couple up and going for winter plantings or Garlic, Broad beans, onions and a few other goodies.20230328_180017.jpg

Also decided it was time to see if we can produce some carbon for Biochar, so a day with an old 44 plus some old bore casing and I think we may have something with some serious possibilities.20230330_124125.jpg

Fire pit is the base of an old LPG cylinder. If the design I'm basing this on is anything to go by, should generate a self sustaining fire from the timber volatiles and hit 800C plus. All I need now is the ceramic blanket for the outside.

Of course its Real... I got it of the Interweb and also on Facebook, so its real mate....
Wouldn't surprise me if it was real tho as they do have giant Pumpkins and other large stuff... so why not a Strawberry...

LW....

My hydro pineapple doesn't seem to be pupping after having been harvested quite some time ago now

So..... having a smooth already rooted one inside on a windows sill, I made the executive gardening decision to replace the former plant
Screenshot_20230718-145600_Gallery.jpg
It had to be pushed in a bit so the roots could be immersed in water

I've cut back some passion fruit vines and rotaried up some soil for shifting a few strawberry plants into a new possie.

Having added compost with earth worms on top I had our resident butcher birds on hand to eat any slow worms.

Seeing as my maringa effort failed miserably due to wet feet, I've put 4 coffee bean trees in that part of the garden in their stead.

Chooks were interested, just in case I had food on hand
Screenshot_20230718-145803_Gallery.jpg
You can see the devastation in that reality
Screenshot_20230718-145835_Gallery.jpg
Some pretty chooks there amongst that lot though.
Screenshot_20230718-145904_Gallery.jpg
But, as there are mostly young ones there is still only one or two eggs a day just now.
