Sorry not a vegie but an Agave. Got a bunch of them from a demolition site. Chickens think its a vegie though if you brake a leaf for them.

Looking awesome silver. My plantings are just sprouting or in the very early stages of growth. I am very impressed by my Greenhouse results so far. I will get a pic when time and work permit. Hate getting home late from day work and have less than an hour before dark. Bring on night shift when I can get a bit done in my yard. OH MY.... Did I actually say I preferred night work there??????

It's more than just the produce possible fellas hey ! :Y: (Big sigh) more than words can express....a peace, tranquility & reality that invades your entire being (even while your sweating your guts out doing the hard yakka).

Totally agree silver. Not just about growing the produce but also the peace that cooking, preserving, sharing the results of our efforts brings to us. Nothing better than making a meal from our home grown produce and sharing it with family and friends. This brings us peace, happiness, tranquility...

Every time I am working in my patch I have images of my dad. I would be up early on my way to work and Dad, Tom, would be home from night shift, watering his vege patch with a rollie in the side of his mouth.... Great memories.... Hope to pass it on to my grandkids.

Ramjet, I had the same memories of my Dad, God bleed hi soul.
Chook compound, veggie patch, loaded with horse and sheep do doo and the best produce to grace the table.
Those were the days, as they say, but Those Were Were The Days.
Dad, always had a Rollie hanging from the lip, Champion Ready Rub. Killed Him.
Mackka

My dad who sadly on his last legs always had a vegetable patch, it all started during the pre war years as a kid when he had a block of land and a Clydesdale out the back of Golden Square, he grew veggies to supplement the families food table. He was a production manager for Henry Jones IXL most of his working life so you could say fruit and veg was his passion.
Every Xmas up and till his illness two years ago we would get a wheat sack full of homemade tomato sauces, chutneys, jams and conserves that he made from his garden.
A bloody good effort considering he did it for up to thirteen presents.

I thought I'd prepare the next one for planting.
Softened up the dirt with the rotary hoe.
Left a pawpaw and my cold chillie bush insitu.
1530970653_screenshot_2018-07-07-16-05-30.jpg

put rooster booster on
1530970719_screenshot_2018-07-07-16-05-34.jpg

1530970877_screenshot_2018-07-07-16-05-47.jpg

1530970956_screenshot_2018-07-07-16-05-55.jpg

So I got the young fella to help me get some icecream bean leaves together.
1530973649_screenshot_2018-07-07-16-04-27.jpg

and I reduced them with the lawnmower.

1530974266_screenshot_2018-07-07-16-04-53.jpg

1st reduction

1530971338_screenshot_2018-07-07-16-05-14.jpg

after the 4th and final pass over (reduction) with the mower I spread the leaves on the garden bed as well.
