Pollination problem with the blue as well, when the male flowers first grew only one shed pollen.

Yeah, corn can be a bit hit and miss.
I grow it every couple of years and sometimes get a good harvest, other times not much.
One thing for sure is that it needs a hell of a lot of water.

Hahaha,,learnt a long time ago to watch the buggers. I remember thinking I was smart wearing latex gloves to deseed some Naga Morich one year, then I got an itch in my eye and I went for it.

All I can say is F#*$%^..

Sweet corn I grew were ok on the north facing iron fence but on the other side of same fence being southern they were dismal, the heads didnt fill very well at all. Yes mine all got sun burnt but everything did.
They are very thirsty buggers but very nice. Carrots I grew are still going their thirsty too but nice and sweet.

Reckon I won't be seeing any chillies till late April at the rate mine are going.

Still, it's nice seeing a bit of "green" coming into the driveway.

These four cayenne's chillies have grown lilac in colour since flower, gotta choose the best genes for the future, I like the two on the left..

Starting to get a few tomatoes now. Birds got the one in the middle.

Driving up to Creswick about an hour ago. Couldn't see 100 metres in front. Was a lot worse than it looks in the pic. Had to slow down to 60 for a few k's. Good to see it has rained a bit.
