Question we should all be asking our selves is , will an electric vehicle tow it or any other trailer/van ?
By 2030 that's what some want us driving..which means we can forget about outback touring.. 8.(

If you have that sort of $$ to spend on an outfit (or maybe a little more), one of the Unimog Expedition vehicle variants (by various builders) would be a better option for Australia IMO, rather than trying to tow near 3t thru sand & bog

There are short & long wheelbase versions around ... seen a LWB version in town here over xmas.

Over here you can Register Unimogs as a Tractor so you get cheap rego and can run them on red Diesel which is about half the price.

If I had the spare cash I'd have one just to upset the greenies LOL, 4x4 with Attitude, Now that's what I'm talking about, :playful: :playful: :playful: :playful: :playful: :playful:

Awesome Trucks with Auto Tyre Inflation/Deflation On The Fly, 5ft of Wading Depth as standard MaaHoooooSive Ground Clearance, and 38 to 44" Tyres :inlove: :inlove: :inlove:

That would drag that 2850kg camper anywhere, I do like that camper but it is a lot of weight for off road use, Hit a patch of bull dust and you could be there for weeks. :(

The Pointless thing about that electric BMW is they are using a Petrol Generator to Charge it up, Sort of Defeats the Object of going electric, Ay.

I am all for Non Carbon Power but not at the expense of giving up my Truck,

Years ago I watched the Mad Max Films when they first came out and I realized back then that people living / being like that was just around the corner and all it would take is a simple mistake.

If the GOV push this green thing too far then people will head Bush and need a camper like this one, But with everyone pushing these electric cars how on earth would a person Tow a 2850kg across Australia without having to stop every hour to charge it, This would put a lot of camper companies out of business. :N:

The infrastructure is not there yet but the technology is, they can now build an electric SUV that can easily do 600km while towing a 3t van and it will tow it much easier than any commercially available combustion engine vehicle. Charging stations are now being installed world wide, including Australia, where an electric vehicle can be charged in about 15 minutes. Remote areas will always be a problem but doing a lap in an EV with a van behind is just around the corner.

They have got charging points all over the city here and even further out, where you have to put in your bank card to charge your car, I don't know the cost or how long it takes but I have seen people using them.

There is a company in the city that does conversions to old and classic vehicles but the starting price is around $36000+ and they only have a 50 mile range.
