I have gauges like the above ones had them since I did my trade and that was 30 years ago and they work fine
spot on, a few psi either way makes no difference at all, and spending $ and time to get closer is just a waste of space, money and time.

No, this is a matter of safety not about who's right and who's wrong or going to far, There is a reason why tyres come with certain stipulations that vary from vehicle to vehicle, And having worked for a major tyre company and been a problem solver for Jaguar UK, I know a bit more about this than most.
