It lives! The sneak peek had run its course. Today I got a report that testing had begun (well as much as was practical) on the face of it all went well (a huge relief) off to pick it up tomorrow. I'll get it home and start tinkering. Big thankyou to "the Doc". Stay tuned members.

Dont know mate. ...I had less trouble deciding on a name for my first born. Maybe I can invite everyone to throw up a few suggestions.

I'll edit some pics but I don't have alot of new ones since the sneak peak thread. I'll be sure to share in the coming weeks though

The chemical symbol for gold Au, comes from the Latin word Aurum meaning 'Shining Dawn', a reference to golds bright yellow color.

My name pick for the new trommel is 'Big Aurum' coming from the Australian, gold and rum! Hehe

Sorry....getting back in my box now! ;)

"the Doc".
I was on the "juice" with "the Doc" last night GT, think I almost convinced him to let photos of his whopping high banker make the forum as well  as your big girl,
I'm happy for you mate, now you'll be able to fine tune her and slap on that 6bay 20 foot sluice box
I'll come over and give a hand load it, "the Doc" is not to flash with a hangover "great scotts"

Ps, my suggestion for "the naming of the trommel" is "FRANKENTROMM"

Good to catch up with you and the doc again mate.

The doc had been busy, talk about mad genius. If he's forgotten any contingency I can't see it. It's bloody heavy. By this time next week it will be all systems go.

Took it out for a dry run after giving it some undercoating, experimental spray bars, see how it would handle the water and different types of material. Didn't run the intended sluice box just took the top of the little banker, just ate the dirt up, some small teething issues nothing dramatic. Caught some gold before the pump ran out of fuel, didn't check the tank to much of a hurry haha. Got some small mods in mind but all in all I had alot of fun today. Bring on the cubics.

It's on an 8x5 trailer for scale. Can't wait to finish the custom trailer for it and set it up as an self contained arrangement, I'm thinking next weekend I'll fill up the trailer with some wash dirt and just bash it through on the block.

Wow goldtarget
Now thats a nice trommel... hope u have a good handle on your shovel.. :D
How many yards an hour do u think it will do ?

I'll probably do the leg work design and most of the fabricating but stick it under someone else's banner so I can register it. That said I have the idea and materials I needed to get it home to sort dimensions, but I can't see it coming under regulation so best to go down the engineering path. Steel frame with custom aluminium top, shouldn't be a huge ask, done a couple before. Why's that mate?

Only one way to find out I guess. A lot will depend on material. It stays alot longer in the barrel with its pitch angle and agitation bars than I first anticipated which is really a good problem to have. I didn't time it though, only got 2 hours in from the time I pulled up to packing up.
