Looking at it right now with the loupe,... a bit worn, but no rim damage at all,.. when i get some more CLR I'll give it a bath and see what comes of it. ;)

Well that was good GP, we now have a start date of 1897(down the bottom of that link) for the hat badge,.. works in quite well with the date of the sixpence too and its relative wear and tear,.... amazing where things originate and where they lay to rest in the end. :)

Very nice finds Silver, you seem to do well on those old military badges. Hope this link provides some more detail on the origins of the badge.

It was cleaned up with CLR and then a light Bicarbing.

I think I prefer the white light myself,.... just thought I'd give it a go,.....once.
Mind you the Kitchen light was on as well(flouro about 4 metres away).

First I thought it was a button,... then a stamp,...still none the wiser though. :)

Cool find  looks very early 1900s at the latest

Second find was an old toy car.
lost a bit of meat on that window pillar.
1437829136_sam_2299.jpg

and I might have scratched the paint on the bonnet
1437829136_sam_2300.jpg

still got something in the back blocking that window,..I did remove what looked like a small square nut from inside with the dirt,... probably what was being carted around in play, maybe represented a box of fizzy bottles.
1437829136_sam_2301.jpg

still has all four wheels, even if the base has been pushed in a little.
1437829137_sam_2302.jpg

1437829137_sam_2303.jpg

so there you have it, an old lesney no. 59 panel van. :D

Ha, old Mango trees(very old)there, so maybe someone was making up boxes for their mangoes to send to market,.. mind you, everyones house would of had a handsaw back then,... now that you've said what it is I can clearly see(in my minds eye) dads old saw had round things like that in it,.... have to have a look now and take a picky next time I'm out at Mums. :D
