A spill like that makes it all very worthwhile I reckon Silver. More finds coming I'm sure.

Got out the other day while I could to a place that gave me up silvers in the past,...and sure enough, my new hunting technique has paid off again with the ACE250 performing well on gone over ground,....with silver that was hiding from me revealed at last.

so that's a 1941 threepence(925 silver)

1417393031_sam_6406.jpg

And I don't know what this thing is at all,....?

Just over 1/2 the size of the Threepence so it may be a bit small for a candle snuffer,..I have absolutely no idea(may have been an old dairy farm on the spot though)

looks like it is a tip of something? maybe a candle snuff?

Not one to sit around for too long, I was back at it yesterday with a few nice little finds
Pre decimals first, with a haul of $4.38

On to those predecimals

1417402874_sam_6436.jpg

1954 shilling,..it'll clean up ok when I get some more fluid for the job.

1417403055_sam_6438.jpg

I'm not even going to mention that 1924 penny ,..except I'm glad it wasn't 1930(I want it to look good when I get that one).
1953 1/2 penny

1417403285_sam_6440.jpg

Then of course,...I did get this

1417403732_sam_6442.jpg

So what is 825 p

But the real highlight of the day was to get this little beauty in one piece (ring part still intact on the top of it) Edward the 7th Australian coronation commemorative medallion

One day I hope to have a good camera(for close ups too),....need a teaching thread for photos, so we can get the best out of ourselves when it comes to pickys to display our finds in their best light(so to speak) with great backgrounds(unlike my old outside tabletop). And some tips on good performing cheap buys for technology etc.

Mate you really built that up, impressive stuff. Love it.

The medallion is definitely the highlight out of all he finds, and in great condition too. As for the ring (and a nice one too), 825 is 82.5% silver vs 925 92.5% silver (sterling). :)

Well,.. yesterday was a bit of a fail,...so here is the best expose' I can muster for it.
Presenting the bottom line of detectorationing,.....
The two Brown Buggers.

This amazing 1973 Two Cent piece was unfortunately nicked in the 11 o'clock position(making it all but,.. all but worthless)
1417467652_sam_6473.jpg

1417467693_sam_6474.jpg

But this fantastic 1988 One Cent saved the day by being the definite find of the hunt,
with its Specimen like qualities of the classic ground find.

hey mate, the 1cent is in beautiful condition. I find good condition 1966 1cent pieces like this.. Those 1cent give off a promising reading though huh? Whenever i get 1cents im thinking theyre gonna be a 'good coin' (being pence)

I dig them TM as for me they sound like they could be silver(don't smell like it though).

I'm with you TTKooAu, looks alot like 925. Surely silver could smell the actual silver content of a find by now :D

That much silver lying around here AJ,
that by the time I looked at it at home I couldn't smell anything.

Finally got out today,...needed to find money to pay the postage of that 1914 shilling to Ramjet,...and I found it ($9.71 all up),..in fact I found enough to shout the boys and I a frozen coke each ($4.00 gone),...also found silver in a tree trunk(no tree left) but it got scratched(umaaargh) on the way out,...terrible retrieval method(end of spade)
so here it all is(minus the frozen coke money)
1418012281_sam_6827.jpg

here is the 1926 halfpenny(with mower damage).
1418012363_sam_6837.jpg

the American 1c
1418012406_sam_6836.jpg

and of course the threepence.(1943,...925 silver)
1418012535_sam_6835.jpg

but of course there was the little problem with the retrieval.
1418012630_sam_6834.jpg

And as soon as I submit this I'm off to post that 1914 shilling to RJ.
