Reckon it might be the mum but, either that or Dads out in drag. If you look he / she is wearing heelsThat's actually their Dad! The male emu makes and guards the nest, hatches the eggs and stays with his chicks until they become independent. The eggs in a nest may even be laid by more than one female, so it can be a mixed parentage family but all with the same father.
Looks familiar, Georgetown way?Well natures an animal and I'm sure there would be a few in there anyways so .................................... came across this on the way back thru the paddocks yesterday

Mount Tabletop? Must be pretty hot out there now, I won't be out again until about end of May. Can't wait, should have a 6000 by then, plenty of old patches to go over. Cheers.Ya got it pretty close, Etheridge Shire
Sure is a ripper photo, never thought of it as an award winner. I've asked my nephew if he took it, haven't heard back so not sure who did. I'll suggest putting it in a competition definitely worthy of consideration. What a fantastic picture .................... thats an award winner

Too much of a coincidence? Your nurtured parrot is repaying kindness for sure.About 6 months ago Kate rescued an injured King Parrot brought it home nurtured it back to health and released it. We've never had King Parrots at our place in the 20 years we've been here. A few months ago a pair turned up out of nowhere, since then they visit daily Today I was able to hand feed this one for the first time
