Headsup.
Thanks, had most of those things on my to do list.
She towed home OK. Stopped a couple times to check bearings were not getting hot and nothing falling off.

Ag Man. Yes a little to do. A 77 model so nothing is as it once was :) window rubbers perished, fly screens torn etc.
The guy we got it off has mostly refitted it. New cupboards and mostly rewired. 240v PowerPoint's and 12v lights with a rectifier from 240. All the electrics will be checked over by a qualified leco. Electrickery is black magic to me :8 . not really... I'll do any thing 12v. But the high voltage I leave to the experts.

With what he has done it gives us plenty of scope to make it how we will use it.

But... 2 new tires and rego and we can use it as it is. As I said we have done a lot of camping so have all the bits n pieces we need to be comfy.

Congratulations Rod,

It seems you have got yourself a bargain there,
We are on our 2nd van & try to get away as much as possible. I,m sure you will enjoy it.
Any help or advice I can help with just let me know.
I STILL have trouble backing the bloody thing up in spite of lots of practice.
Looking fwd to Nundle weekend,we will be there early afternoon Friday as we are having a week at north haven before .
We will head for home Sunday stopping o/nite at Aberdeen to get home monday morning as the boss has a doctors appt in the afternoon.
The showground at Aberdeen is excellent for an overnight. There are toilets, water but no power.
You drive past the bowling club & over to your left you will see picnic tables ,toilet etc.---nice & quiet
Pete.

An old caravan. Done a LOT of camping. Never owned a Van.
As our big tent has started to fall apart from age and use we decided to upgrade.
Tho I'm not sure this old girl is much of an upgrade. A fixer upper.
Not exactly what we were looking for but too good a bargain to let pass.
$900. No rego but has an awning. Not bad me thinks.

Now thats a bargain Rod
Dont worry about what she looks like. As long as she rolls[safely]on the road and stays dry shes good for her first trip.
The more you get out with it you will get to see what you need to upgrade.
Most of all have fun
Cheers

how old is the machine ?

ring up minelab and ask if you can attend the next training day for the GPX , the NSW one is November 9 at Hill End , dunno when the next tassie one is

Its free when you buy a new machine but i dont know if they allow people who brought second hand . doesnt hurt to ask

If you know somebody who bought one new , they are allowed to bring a friend for free

speaking of which , does anybody want to attend the Hill End training day ? i will be going to that one so a second person is permitted to tag along , prefer if you had your own machine though

>

ps Googs , did you do the verification checks to make sure your machine isnt one of those counterfeits from china ?

HeadsUp, have done all the checks (minelab and place of purchase, people that know him)
I will ring minelab tomorrow and see what they can do for me. The machine is late 2011 model. I cant see anything that can happen there. But if there is no outcome there, I may head to Bendigo soon and have a look about and maybe get some lessons.

Agman, I saw one of these and thought I can make one, So I did!, I dont have the pump bit, just another bit of hose, put one end in the crevice, the other in the mouth... suck away.. just have to be careful as if the mouth tube is too far down you will end up with a gob full of crapolla.. I will take my chances with the Crypto.. I only use it in crevices, not in a body of water, that is what I made my crevice pump for!

Good luck with it at the meet next weekend.. ;)

Cheers, Tone,

Thanks Chris.
Yes a bargain. Spend a little on it, use it a little. We will learn more what we do and don't want in a van.
Sell it and make a few $$ for the upgrade :)

Atpro hey, have heard they are good machines. :D

An other family car - Toyota Camry.
Our old Daihatsu cooked its engine bad (even melted the dipstick!) & repairs outweighed the car's value... :(
Been thinking of upsizing the buzzbox for a while & this just hurried it allong.
Camry goes well, cheap to run & much more comfy.
