If you really feel the need to take a selfie holding a reptile, please please please support the poor creatures body properly. Don't just let it dangle.
Your selfie doesn't make you look cool...just cruel.

did a bucket list item not long ago.

Bloke had a crock showing it off.
Yep. Held the crock in such a way it did not freak out because it's back was not
stressed.
Finger on top of it's head to stop it from gaping,
other hand supporting it.

I used to have sleepy lizards as pets when younger.
supported by both hands to stop them from dangling.
I can see in that photo the poor lizards rear legs are fighting to grab a grip.

Proper handling is essential.
The animal will calm down if supported then work out WTF is going on.

Finally, Even a snake when handled by the tail is done in such a way with it's head on the ground.
There are a few that can flick back at you but the majority of them climb themselves to attack. (Don't blame them.)
Then and then, You can be bit.
Fully agree Tuna.

Even our cat gets picked up with two hands,
supporting it's spine.
Then tossed over the shoulder. LOL

I pick big lizards up by the tail, and slip my other hand in under their legs from behind.... (only to shift them off the road and into a tree).
Leaves you wondering though.... if that was the way they were heading or not lol.
Big ones bite harder, and small ones are bad enough :p

This guy is my hero. He doesn't only Reduce, but he recycles and re-uses. I wonder if there's any use for their innards?

Yeah. he does a good job. Feral cats are a real bad problem.

And I never touch the wildlife. May take a pic here or there if I can, but that's about it.

I'm too scared to pat my mates lamas. Keep thinking they will bite.

If they're anything like their cousins the alpacas, it's spitting and kicking that you need to worry about.
Funny you say that. We had to shear a few the other day. My old man who shouldn't have been there and nephew got a real beauty in the face. Vile smelling stuff and green to boot. They reckon it took two showers to get the smell out. Alpacas are not my favourite animal. BTW Tuna, are you really worried about that lizard or are you having a laugh and taking the piss out of a mate of yours? For all we know he could be a professional lizard chiropractor. Sincere apologies if it's the former not the latter ;)
