Iv witnessed tests involving the TDI pro vs minelab GPX 5000 so I know what each machine is capable of, but at the same time I could make the GPX look bad as I'm a far better operator with the TDI pro.

Now Iv hunted side by side against a GPX4500 and the man with the GPX 4500 has had most Minelab models and was very impressed watching the TDI pro find 2 ALL!' in his patch that he had already been over many times'
Now the Minelab GPX will kill the TDI using the same size coil but if the next size down coil was fitted to the TDI you will start to see a resemblance regarding depth and target responce' tho won't cover as much ground. Depth with the same coil could be anywhere between 1 - 2" tho in high mineralisation where the Minelab may need a DD coil the Depth difference would be closer to 1" and yes we all realize that 1" deeper than the last detectorist could mean ounces and pay for the GPX.

the GPX4500 operator won't be named but he knows who he is....

Now once this new Minelab shows up and the gold starts rolling on in I'll shut up about the TDI and start dreaming about if I'm keeping the polaris or not.

Yes Indeed, that New GPZ 7000 has a lot of new gizmoe's , Including GPS and all sorts of wonderful things on it and all I need to do is save up about $9k to pay for it
and it looks like the 3030, that's interesting??

6 TDI's or 3 1/2 TDI Pros, Naa Get a GPX5000 and a TDI Pro then I got a back up for the TDI Pro, lololol :D

But I can not recommend Minelab Machines For 2 Reasons, The Build Quality of the SDC sucks, with Battery Contact issues, Coil Falsing issues and Speakers that give up the Ghost and having to use Cable ties to support the Coil knuckle is unexceptable for Such an expensive Item,
Mate now your just talking complete & utter garbage.
- Battery contacts issue? This has only occurred on mine with Powerizer rechargeables. No other batteries have caused this so it is hardly an issue with the SDC contacts. Other users I know concur that it only occurs with the Powerizer rechargeables?
- coil falsing issue's? The only isolated cases I have heard of or seen on forums are one on here to do with heat, a small amount in the US that had issues on vegetation & were replaced + some dude complaining about his cell phone causing falsing (well  ). The heat issue hardly seems widespread or even conclusive as yet. That machine certainly has an issue but it appears to be an exception not the norm. Mine & many others that I know are suitably impressed by the lack of coil falsing - quite the opposite.
- speakers giving up the ghost? More isolated guff that isn't the norm.
- cable ties to support the coil knuckle???? What a crock - some people, including me, have added some extra guarding there to protect the knuckle using cable ties. Not to support it? My estimation without this extra guarding is you "might" wear through the knuckle with daily use in about 5 years. With the extra guarding it just removes a very small possible risk of that actually occuring.

You just keep reeling out more guff on Minelab products to satisfy your own agenda. If anyone else attacked another manufacturer in similar fashion or as regularly they would have their posts removed or edited.

You've brought up about Minelab being a sponsor here (they aren't - a dealer is) - what is the relevance. They do not moderate the forum & if they did we may be relieved of reading your constant anti Minelab ramblings!

None of which has happened with mine, in 10 months. I detect 4 days every fortnight and am doing quite nicely thank you.
Expensive ? Not all all, paid for itself within 12 weeks, Anything found after is going towards the GPZ7K.

Have fun finding pennies. :)

Ok Thank you for clearing up all those over sights Created during the Manufacturing process for me,

https://www.prospectingaustralia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=9745&p=1

And I am sure LC76 can draw Great Comfort Knowing that all these Issues are not important and sending his Machine back 3 X has nothing to do with quality Control or Design faults, How Stupid of Me to think such a thing.

My Apologies To MinersDen As I did Not Know that you were The Sponsor Here.

Also I Apologize to Minelab for Assuming That you were A Sponsor Here,

Yes you have had great success with your machine So well done, Keep up the Good Work,

Actually I don't find Pennies, Most of the Items I find are either Gold, silver, and Items that are anything up to 4000 years, But thanks just the same

Back to the op if you cannot afford a gpx 5000 then the whites tdi's are a good option being pi and only a very small learning curve, but with the new gpz 7000 coming out you may be able to get a second hand 5000 or sdc for a new tdi price...

Regards Daryl

You blokes are having a whinge about the price of detectors!!!!

Mrs Redfin just bought herself am thermomix.

Should be me whinging , but it is a nice bit of kit.

Just had a quick read about the Thermomix. It's a versatile unit, but can't fry steak, eggs or brown stuff.
I think you are going to have to take a 6 mth camping trip in your van and get used to using it - waddaya think.
You with the 7000 and the Mrs. with the Thermomix--tis a good deal huh??
Jaros

You'll love the Thermomix Redfin, I bought one a couple of years ago, takes a little while to get used to but you'll grow to love it, especially the deserts it makes.

No way she would be up for that Jaros, she finds more gold than me, has a much keener ear and can make the 5000 sing.
I usually do the cooking when we go away.
Out in the scrub I usually wake to the sound of the rooster booster in the distance.
