Just been thinking that possibly one of the problems that we have when we go detecting, we are using a small pill bottle to put our finds in and sometimes they have been a tight fit into the bottle. :Y:

On our next trip I was thinking of taking one of the larger empty peanut butter jars as it seems like our detectors are seeing the size of the pill bottles and then only looking for gold that will fit, so by having the bigger jar sitting alongside the detector on the trip down I was hoping that it would get to notice the bigger jar and find the slightly bigger bits that will be a tight fit in that jar. O:)

I felt that if I went too big with the jar it would be cumbersome and people would think I was being greedy.

Ah Nightjar, many here would not know a film canister like you or me. My Dad, God Rest His Soul, would take clear tablet bottles, approx 3x1 and he and Uncle Bob, would fill 3 or 4 of them over a week at Hill End. That was in 1959. Uncle Bob would put them on the window sill with the others so when he was in the room the sun made them glow. Never did anything with them.

I have a table bottle with a magnet inside it so it will click onto my lucky horse shoe on my hardness
