Just wanted to give a big shout out to the volunteers that run the montreal goldfields tours on the southcoast NSW. I visited this for the first time, although small the information the guide Peter gave me of the area was a eye opener and invited me back to expore with him some well known(but not to me) areas. These Volunteers most of them elderly & in retirement run the tours, spread there knowledge and stories for the historical area for the love of it. Will be back to have a beer with Peter and a days prospecting . Cheers.

Did they show you the holes beside the main road.
There are about 4 drives that go along under the road to the beach.
When one caved in trapping a few miners, They abandoned the idea.
They are still there in under the beach. LOL
Come along the power lines until the first rise.
Just of to the left hand side there is a peg with a hole near it.
Shine a torch down into it and if the tide is right, You can see water.
If the tide is low, You can see water washed rocks in the bottom.
That was part of the Dromaderry wash for that area and if you can, You run a high banker in the sand right beside the creek.
You will find gold.
Don't go digging in the back shoulders of the beach.
It is a burial area and there are bones in there.
