Got out yesterday to Native Dog Creek for a swing, covered some ground but no nuggets. 8.(
Thought I would test the waterproof abilities of the SDC in the creek so put the yabbie pump and pans in the backpack and climbed down the ridge. There was too much water to get good access but managed to find a small section I could rock hop.
First target was a bullet but the brilliant flashes of red that jumped out of the pan were a real surprise, to top it off some nice coarse gold also lay at the bottom of the pan. Got another two bullets but they didn't have any friends.
With the failing light and tiger leaches the size of small snakes preventing me from being more adventurous I left with a new appreciation for the SDC as a gem hunting tool. Come to think of it, the ALDI has a waterproof coil and would pick up the lead just as well......something to consider when trying to find those honey holes.
