Hi Folks,

Just thought it may be an interesting thread to open, discuss and perhaps show and tell in relation to any thing along the recycling lines. Many prospectors are good at this type of thing. Making bits and pieces from leftover scrap, repurposing pieces of equipment etc. Farmers are legends at it. Its amazing what they can make or hold together with a piece of 8 gauge fencing wire. Have noticed evidence of it just lately on the site. Sluices made from old road signs, sieves from old plastic buckets, garden beds from old fridges, furniture from recycled pallets... and so it goes on. I think many of us feel the same way about repurposing or recycling. It gives you a real sense of satisfaction if you are able to construct something of use without damaging the credit card. Are we just tight ars#s or is there more to it than that? Is it about our concern for the environment or are we just fighting back at the consumerism that rules our life? Perhaps its the way that many of us were raised. Our parents often grew up in the depression years and had to make do with very little. I can tell you one thing. Its very frustrating to walk into a large hardware store, come out with a handful of nuts and bolts and you are down a hundred bucks. Crazy really. Anyway, lets see how it goes. Doesnt matter if its prospecting related or not. Post up a few pics, explain what it is and then answer any questions that may come your way.

Cheers

Les

Good thinking Mackka. Same here in NSW. We save the drink cans and bottles for the grandkids. When they come down to stay, they put them into the recycling machine and get the cash for their money boxes. Gotta teach them early.
