No silver today. Was a tough start and after a couple of hours and 2 sites I had a total of $3.03. We hadn't planned a backup site as we had confidence in the first one. :8
So we went to a well worked over place that was on our way home. Again it was slow going with just bbs and the odd spendable. We decided to move again but on the way Rocket saw a likely spot and we went at it. More bbs and moderns for a while then bang bang, 2 pennies a foot apart. I got a third a couple of metres away and after the 4th Rocket came over. Wasn't his day though. As we worked close to each other I kept popping pennies and sheqels. Never thought I'd have 2 sheqels to rub together. Now I have 5. This coin was made from 1982 to 1985. The other ring in is an American Quarter. Not sure on the date yet. Also got a lovely 1898 penny and a 1921 commonwealth penny.

Got my housework done so I shouted myself a short hunt at my local. Bloody music festival campers left a mess as always. I'm starting to get a bit of a handle on the XP, unlike Rocket who has it mastered already ;)
Picking out coins from amongst a lot of trash is getting much easier. Just need to listen. :D
Skull ring is a junker but the peace ring is 925 silver.

pre decs, hippie junk, plus hippie silver! Those gas bulbs, are getting to be a more common find. Are they used in e-cig/vapour smokers?

Nitrous Oxide, the old laughing gas trick ,... silly fools.(not you blokes)

Can remember huffing nitrous at the dentists one time, was quite a pleasant and mind numbing experience but yeah probably not great for the ol brain cells if done regularly, I've found quite a few in some parks recently also.

Nice hunt Rod.

The dentist would at least use a regulator ,... whosoever uses it like that risks some serious accidents in the short term just after use. Dangerous.
Like both those rings for what they are. :D

I feel confident with deus....but I am still looking at TIDs. On most sites TID hunting seems ok....but last hunt the TIDs turned out to be much lower. I think we should stick the remote in our pocket.

I dig mostly to tone, though as we talked about TIDS are useful as we know what a lot of them mean now. I only glance at the screen occasionally, watching my coil sweeps mostly. I could detect without the remote. Must try it one day.

Cripes, I have exactly the same skull ring from a 1940's site, though yours is in much better condition. Hippie silver is always welcome, doesn't matter where it comes from. ;)

Are you fellas using different frequencies, or mainly sticking to 17kHz, strange that the TID's were lower than usual in Rocket's case unless the TID normalisation wasn't selected?

Probably best off pocketing the controller, and getting used to tones than relying on the TID's. I might look at giving them another try once the TID accuracy is improved on deeper targets with the propsosed new software package. :)

We both run on11 kHz mostly but switch to 17 if there is to much emi. Seems to quieter it down nicely. The other day I got pennies from 89-92 all within a few metres of each other.
