Well I don't know much, if anything, about American Politics. However, what I see is a vote from the ordinary everyday American people, who have had enough of the power brokers in their country. The people are pissed off.
Compare to Australia. At our last election, gasp, horror, we elected four of Pauline Hanson's senate candidates, regardless of current problems surrounding one of them. The major parties here in Queensland are absolutely terrified that in the next state election, Pauline's mob are gunna wipe the floor with some of these high and mighty politicians who believe that they, and only they, have a right to rule. No different to America. The people are absolutely pissed off with the excesses, waste and self indulgence of the major parties that they will vote for anyone who is saying things that they believe in. Whether they can deliver doesn't matter, at least in the short term. People are screaming out for a government that will look after the ordinary Joe instead of pandering to the monied side of town.
