Popping to Australia Fremantle/Perth 3rd oct 15

Hi

I'm popping over to Australia Fremantle / Perth area from the uk for 10 days from the 3rd of October well I fly today ..

For a work trip ? On the plus side I have enough room to bring my mine lab CTX3030 and a few bits..

Any advice on detecting laws or beach hunting would be good.

Or if any one wants to meet up for a dig i will be free most evenings and possibly on the 10th and 11th of October..

Welcome to the forum,... and Australia Olly,...10 days, that'll make you an Aussie by the time you leave mate,... if only we were having an election while you were here,.... you coulda been our next PMinister(ha),.... hook in mate, we got a pretty big coastline down here with plenty of room on the beach,... hope you can score a keepsake,.... just remember that whatever you dig has to be dealt with properly(rubbish into the bin) and you will have no problems,... probably need a permit of somekind over there though if you go out looking for gold.Maybe you could FIFO to Kalgoolie on your days off and pre book a 4wd hire out there,... someone on here would probably know what you would need to do beforehand,... maybe there would even be a tag along tour happenning over that way somewhere(they have the permits) that you could catch up with(long shot) where you would only need a fossicking permit.

Pre Welcome Olly, the easiest thing to do is drop into the mines department in Perth. You can pick up a "Miners right" ($25AU) this allows you to fossick and detect in most WA locations. It also means you are part of history and a WA Miner. At this point they last for life as well. Walk in show some ID, pay and then get your miners right simples...

I'm staying in Fremantle esplanade hotel

I will look into the miners right tomorrow after work..

I may pop to the beach for a few hours after.
