They way you are holding & aiming it, is that correct, I was told years ago when at a pistol target shooting club that one hand should be underneath the handgrip, not wrapped around like the trigger finger hand.
I'm right handed so my right hand was holding gun like your's & my left hand was under the handgrip with base of handgrip in my left palm & finger wrapped around bottom of right hand which aided in stability. Maybe thats just how they like to do it at that club.

The gun found ended up being a replica.

How did you find that out Ramjet, the bloke who found it has not had any info back from police & has not contacted them.
There was another one found recently that was small & was a replica, not the same one though.

Probably just the angle the pic was taken from. I do see what you mean though. Looks as if I'm reaching around in front of the trigger guard. Mine was a cheapy. Llama made in Spain. Delta hammer extended beaver grip saftey. I got sick of getting slide bite from the club pistol. Double stacker, which gave me the 14 shots. Them cardboard targets, gongs, and pepper poppas never stood a chance. Happily they didn't shoot back though. :p

All depends on what your shooting at. For quick response fingers should be interlocked, left index finger pointing forward, right index finger always outside the trigger guard until you acquire your target. Or you could always go for a kill shot and hold the pistol on it's side like in the movies :p

Yes I saw the other one. Karl said his was a replica.

The second black coloured one found by someone else was a replica, Karl hasn't found any info on the one he found, he's not worried calling police for info about it as he can't get it back.
I just spoke to Karl, (friends on Facebook), he doesn't know if his find was a replica or not.

Never got slide bite myself but have witnessed people removing their own teeth from firing a tactical 12 gauges from face height without the shoulder rest extended.

Reminds me of the old story about the bloke lining up a dingo with a double-barrel while laying in his swag- knocked all his front teeth out.

The 6.5x55 Echlin and Jungmann semi-autos were great for slide bite if not operated correctly. A fantastic weapon-fully dirt-proof, but tricky for new users. The slide cover needs to be returned forward before firing from memory.

Yeah, but the slabs are all joined- I'll just wait for the Landlords return. On a similar note, here in SA we have a gun amnesty running from now til June next year, and they are considering making it permanent. Finally some common sense prevailing. Just take your goodies into your local gun shop, and they will register or sell or dispose without fear of criminalisation (too much of that all round these days).
How about just a little trenching in under from the side for your hand to reach the goodies, a good feel of it will tell you what it is. ;)

:/ ....i'd have thought a Serial # would have been self evident as to it's authenticity?????

I enjoyed pistol shooting. I used mostly revolvers. Ruger Blackhawk .357 was my fav.
9mm Browning,... and ASAAM was fun. :D

I like the Smith & Wesson .44mag revolver, I sort of like Harley Davidsons also, the 2 remind me of each other, big, cumbersom, noisy and always fun to use. :D Bloody accurate for a handgun. I've used quite a few back in the day but still prefer the S&W.

.357 would be a very close second choice.

I way prefer revolvers.
