I have got my self a neodymium magnet. how do I use this to find gold. knowing gold is magnetic do I just use the magnet to find the magnetic sand and rocks??? then its a good chance there gold there???

Golds not magnetic mate, a lot of the heavys (ironstone, black sands etc) are though. When you get down to the black sands and that in the pan you can use the magnet to strip them out. mostly I only use a magnet on concentrates at the end of the day, don't forget to put it in a ziploc bag or similar, otherwise it'll end up with a permanent coating of blacksand.

...... and if you find that magnet is not picking up the black sand then there's a good chance it's Cassiterite aka tin ore. Save it cos it gets almost US1500 a short ton at todays prices.

thats not bad actually, I know a spot where there was apparently a tin mine back in the day. I might take a look at some point, I wonder how you go about selling it though? I don't imagine you can just turn up at the gates with a couple of trailer loads.
