Panning around Sailors Creek, Daylesford area

Morning all,

I thinking of going out today to test my new pan kit and been looking online for an area to pan. I have found Sailors Creek around the Daylesford area. Can anyone tell me of the area and if it is good for panning both Gold and Gems as well as metal detecting in case I get the detector bug.

I haven't been there before but from what I understand gold and gems are found there. :Y:
As for detecting.... I haven't researched that area so I cant help. 8.(
I would suggest you research your desired location well before you decide to take off for the day. :Y: :Y:

Yes, you'll get color and zircons in your pan. Suprised me the rainbow color of pans there.

I've heard positive things gold and gemstone wise Would love to have a go there but I dont know if there is any water flowing at the moment?
