Anyway .... this morning i went back to last weekends site and spent almost 5 hours griding with the 6" coil

The only coin was 1874 threepence

The next 2 pics are both halves of the same button, that fell apart as it came out of the hole

I think this was a pin/badge. I cant quite make out what it is. It appears to be a sitting/squating figure holding a staff
On the back i can read 'new design'

Bloody square nails were driving me nuts

That site is producung some nice relics, I thought maybe emeralds in the jewellery, though probably not if just gilded copper - is that Budda on the button?

Those square nails can sound good sometimes when at depth, also do a good job at masking the goodies, so better off out of the ground.
