What i hate is that so many Aussie firms employ these overseas dopes to answer my calls when i have a problem .
How do I know there not selling off my ID info ? seeing there in 3rd world despot countries .

They are hopeless at fixing anything , like taking to polite robots with accents I have trouble understanding !

This is the kind of crap we need to say NO to , get those call jobs back here , tell them you want to speech to an Australian .

:(

I just posted my car on here for sale. I also posted on gumtree and had a reply from ....... B Johnson who is a doctor on an oil rig who cant get phone reception and offered more money to take the ad down. He was in talks with the freight company to pick the car up that would be a surprise graduation gift for his daughter blah blah blah. Sickens me that these pr..ks are forever trying to do you out of your money. Thanks to past posts on this subjects I recognised it straight away. Cheers

If you want a laugh, try scammerrevolts on YouTube.
This guy is clued up on the pc.
Indian scam call centers get him to link up interface with his computer etc, but he stalls them, and basically strips there computer and deletes all their files. Worth a watch

Happened with my mates too Kemjack! (you do know them)
Within minutes of posting the car for sale, a very similar experiance was had!

these days you need to treat every suspect phone call e mail even door knockers as a scam every age group and walk of life is not safe from these people they prey on everyone don't feel special that they pick you all you are is the next on the list sad but true

Sitting in a very high end government establishment one day,
They were extremely distressed that scammers were calling them and pestering.
I asked that the next one be transferred to me.

Moral to the story,

Don't stuff with a level 2 tech.

Scratch one scamming call center. Took about 20 minutes to
do it.

I got a nice lunch out of that one. LOL

Please, Be very careful. These pricks are only after one thing.

Your Money.

And they can be very convincing at times.

I suggested the repeated hassling guy from ABS (Australian bearau of statistics) was a scam as well as human resources from Canberra.

$150 a day fine threat from anyone with a little plastic badge (no photo ) wouldn't matter anyway.

Checked their authenticity online. No good, and they gave technical reasons for that.

Turns out they are quite within their right to pursue fines in court with this I.D against the problematic public because the government.

1) DOES NOT SCAM.

2)DOES NOT GET SCAMMED.

Gday

A mate called me about this very same scam about a week ago, he had some car item for sale for around $1500 on gumtree, the scammer claimed she (?) was working on an oil rig, and could only deal by emails as she could not make phone calls, anyway he questioned it and was sent a picture of a drivers licence with the picture of a female on it and the buyers name, said she wanted his bank details and he sent them through for her to make payment, then she got back to him saying that she had left her credit card at home and that payment would be made to him via paypal, but the delivery of $900 had to be paid to the paypal account given before paypal would release the payment to him, there was also mention of payment via some cash transfer system.

Anyway I advised him not to do anything further as it was most definitely a scam, and that he should make a report to the online scam people about it, so be wary of anybody asking you to pay anything up front if you are selling anything, I would also advise that even if you have sold someone something and they are paying by paypal or direct deposit, remove the funds from your paypal account through to your bank account and then withdraw the money from the bank account before you post the item, as these sorts of payments can be reversed by the buyer, too late once your item is in the post to them.

Luckily he uses a bank account like I do that he only adds funds to when needed and only has a small amount of cash in it to keep it open, so even if they get into your account once they have your bank details your loss is very limited.

These scammers are targeting items of lower value now as previously it was mainly high value items like cars and caravans and such, so just be aware that any buyer that seems to be making excuses or changing how they will be paying mid negotiations could be trying to get you into a vulnerable position so that they can screw you over.

cheers

Also had the 'off-shore' scam recently, the give away is the fast response to the ad on things like Gumtree, they're responding to an ad with a price over $1k in a matter of hours or less. Had the fun of spinning this 'bird' along for a couple of days so hopefully might have kept her off someone else's trail. Did she get cranky when I killed the sale :)
