On This Day In 1988, Pan Am flight 103 was destroyed by a terrorist bomb while in flight over the Scottish town of Lockerbie, killing all 259 passengers and crew, as well as 11 residents of the town. R.I.P 
There was a great tv program on this the other day. Very, very sad and still reverberates around the world today.

On This Day In 2004, the world's biggest earthquake in 40 years triggered a devastating tsunami that raced across the eastern Indian Ocean, killing hundreds of thousands of people in seaside villages, towns and resorts.
Watched it on the telly and I could not believe that people actually survived, Thank God they did.
