Had a bit of a go down the beach tonight, nothing valuable gold wise, but was definitely in the right spot with regards to the haul of lead sinkers. A few bits of jewellery were found, including a garnet 925 ear stud, small flower pendant, piece of copper that was previously gold plated, and what might be half of a crud covered silver ring.

Unfortunately I was limited to how deep I could dig due to the lack of a sand scoop, so had to make do with a plastic hand scoop for the night.

Oh well, gold will come one day, just have to wait till mother nature erodes away a bit more sand to have a chance. :)

Back to the same spot at the beach tonight, conditions hadn't changed a hell of a lot, so thought it might be worth another go. Yet more sinkers appeared, mostly all on the same horizon, then I picked up what appears to be half of a real beat up gold bracelet in the same area, ringing up at 09:22 on the Explorer. Thinking it was going to be another plated job, I got home and cleaned it up, even drilled a small hole to check if it is indeed solid - which it is. It weights in at 9.66 grams which also looks the goods, I really need a gold test kit.

Another little surprise was a small possibly silver aeroplane pendant, will have to hit that with electrolysis to reveal more. :)

Nice finds, well done on the half gold bracelet. You definitely need a gold tester, either acids or electronic so you can identify what karat value that is. Hope its 18K +.

Pitty about the car door :(

GP, your on the sinkers,..then your on the gold(hopefully),.. but that's just the half of it(the bracelet),... imagine its track through the beach,... the rest either went further/ didn't get that far yet, or at worst is in some other MDers kitty,.... let's hope it's still just sitting there and waiting patiently for the buzz of your coil to help rip it into the nights soft glowing moonlight and the safety of your gold finds kitty.
Cheers and Beers.
Silver.

I had a beach look in the sunshine today,.. no gold for me though,..hope the gold happens for you Sandta.

Im going out for my turn this arvo ... Hope i find gold ;)

Left the bangle with the jewellers for testing today, also cleaned up the little aeroplane pendant, looks to be silver and has southern cross imprinted across the top of the wings. Unfortunately the wing engines and landing gear fell off during the cleaning process. :)

Well another night out at the beach with the Bogan crew, and after lucking out on anything valuable on the previous night - boom baby, gold on the Explorer!

First target of the night was a whopping big 12.82 gram silver ring, followed up by a very small 0.94 gram 9k gold ring, and not only a couple of metres away, a 6.99 gram 9k gents ring with a small diamond. The drought has broken at last, and I certainly didn't expect two gold rings in the one sitting.

The small gold ring rang up around 11:02, typical pull tab target, whilst the larger ring was somewere around 05:17 (too happy to take much notice).

I'd like to thank the Bogan crew again for allowing me to accompany them on what was beautiful summers night. :)

GOLD BABY! What a way to burst the gold bubble GP ... The gents ring is a beauty and my size ... :)

It was a magic night both weather and detecting wise. As we were saying - seeing these beauties unearthed after all the years in the drink is the reason we go out so we all felt satisfied ... Especially GP ... well done! I had my 23 yr old daughter out for her first detect with the Garrett 250 so it was perfect motivation for the newbie to see what is possible. She found a couple of coins so I'm sure she will be hooked soon too. ;)

You could imagine the knotty one being an old sailors ring.

I think it's a Mexican knot ring, usually made up of two seperate rings held together by the knot.

The small gold ring is of Canadian manufacture, made in the early 80's going by the hallmarks. Going by the tarnished state of the rings, they've been sitting under the surface for quite a few years.

The other highlight of the night was spotting a couple copulating on the sand pretty close to the beach entrance, a fair bit of moaning and groaning going on. :D

Good work mate, it was good to be there to see it come out of the water! It's one thing I have yet to find which is a nice gold ring that I could wear.

Sounds like someone could have been getting full on stabbed, I hope you were OK GP.

I'm surprised on finding such a large ring from the get go, I honestly thought it was going to be a junker - might carry my glasses with me so I can actually read the hallmarks. ;)
