New to Prospecting.

[Wanna get gold]

Hi all.
Myself and two mates are thinkinf of havin a crack at prospecting for some gold.
None of us have ever prospected before and I am looking for some info to help us get started.
We are looking to head into the goldfields region for only about a week ( due to work and family commitments) and we will be camping.

So what we realy need to know is how do we go about getting land to prospect on LEGALLY. I understand that there is crown land anyone can prospect on but in my opinion that would have been picked pretty clean by now so looking more towards private land but not sure if you can get a lease for a week or how it realy works.
Any info or tips to help us along would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Wanna get gold,

It might help if you tell us what state you are wanting to get gold in. WA & FNQ is getting too hot now, SA & Vic is too wet. People will generally give you an idea if you will elaborate a bit more.

Oh yeh sorry. I am in western australia. We were thinking of heading up around the kalgoolie area.
