I'm a bit of a nerd and like a bit of tech. Funny thing is I have never bought a smart TV. I have used them but have always found the remote interface to be a pain when trying to navigate and search. (The newer ones probably have an app for your phone or tablet?)

So, I've got a "Stupid" TV, but use Chromecast. You could use Apple TV, a firestick or whatever.

The only problem with this setup is that you have to have the second device (The chromecast) powered on and then you have two things to deal with if you have problems.

I'm still a fan of this method though :)

I still use chromecast-it's good to keep up your navigational skills. It's a bit like going from an Auto car to a manual.....

One thing I did with the Kogan, "smart" TV - I got a bit fed up with the cursor alphabet input i.e. search function. I got a mini wireless/USB dongle keyboard for direct input.
The keyboard works well, but a shame the TV isn't up to the task. :)

When I get the Sony OLED up and running I'll use the keyboard on this TV.

If you haven't already got one-get a good sound bar like Bose and it will improve your enjoyment immensely.

Yep reviews I've read all suggest a decent soundbar is the go. Bose is a good brand from what I've heard :Y:
Logitech Z623, 2.1 channel THX 35hz to 20khz frequency response pumping 200 Watt RMS for under $300 I highly recommend.

I bought a 75" hisense smart tv and i recon its great by comparison to my old 42" lg 3 year warrenty nas has all the bells and whistles and now at my age i can read the bloody writeing.

From what I can see they're all 4k whatever that means. Could be wrong though?

High Definition is 1920 x 1280px, 4K is 4 time this or 3840 x 2560px. Due to the ever increasing screen size, 4k is needed to provide a good quality image but not everything is filmed in 4k as the data rate is horrendous.
