Howdy,

I Just bought a new EZ Sluice and I cant wait to try it out !! can anyone suggest a creek thats not to far from Melbourne where I can give it a run ?

Thanks

I can't help you in regards to creeks but I can share with you a little advice about the EZ Sluice.

Classifying your material down to 1/4" is optimal for the EZ Sluice, I found classifying any larger than that causes the miners moss to clog up very quickly. If you still find it clogging up at 1/4", try switching to ribbed marine carpet which is what I ended up doing in the end. Miners moss requires a decent amount of flow to clear out efficiently where as the marine carpet doesn't require quite as much.

Other than that, experiment with your angles and water flow until you find its sweet spot :)

I also use a EZ Sluice and I have removed the miners moss and riffles and replaced those sections with gold hog UR mat, the sluice now collects nothing but black sand and gold

Cool thanks for the advise, I just need to find somewhere with enough water flow to run it :)

Hey James,
I use the EZ Sluice at the tail end of my homemade job.
It needs plenty of water and a steeper angle to get it running correctly.
I have at problems of it clogging up at the beginning but it seems to work now and I classified the material to 1/2" and seem to have no problems at all.
Good luck on the hunt.
Brad...

Great little sluice, some peace of $!@# ripped mine off out the back of the ute last time i was at oallen ford..

The only down side is if you leave it sitting in the sun, gets a bit bendy..
