New Comp Idea.

Hey Fossicking Friends!
I tried this experiment a week or two ago, but perhaps I was a little too cryptic and the idea went over the top!!!

This is a test for a possible upcoming competition for PA members.
The idea is, we have hidden a gold nugget within another image, somewhere on the forum..



First up, we tell you that a nugget has been hidden, and it's up to you to find it..
Each 'X' period of time, we will give a clue as to where the nugget is.

Simply put, the first person to correctly identify the thread, the post, the picture that contains the nugget, wins the prize!!
If anything, this will get everybody trawling through old threads and realising what an asset PA is to our community!!

So to kick the test off... I have LOST my nugget....

Trust me folks, we have done a lot of testing with image searching, user activity movements and all sorts to try and make sure that this is a 'hard' comp and you have to work for it!!
You will need to listen to and interpret the clues and read through the old threads!!

Hopefully you all enjoy this test and we can put it into reality??

Which also reminds me I need to think of a comp and put up a nugget prize. Been a bit on lately!

Talk about the clues here, see if you can guess where Nugget is?!

I looked in the Lost And Found thread Simmo and I couldn't find any clues, mind you, Miss Kay reckons my eyes must be painted on when it comes to finding stuff

Followed the clues, Lost, Stolen, Found, and then went thru topics which had something gold in them , ie wedding ring.

Certainly gets you thinking and scrolling thru posts.

Lol! Well done, yup the next clues where going to narrow down on the topic and even the original poster!!

What the team were talking about back stage was that it would be fun if you were discussing your idea's on the thread, and chucking idea's around so everyone could see them.
Where you have searched to discount a thread etc etc!
I'm thinking if we get this happening that 'official clue's' might only come out every few days or even once a week????

Hi Simmo, did this event ever take place? I reckon its sounds like a great idea, and yes would get me scrolling through some of the older posts a bit more too. Although I do already know how valuable this community is, and I've only scratched the surface... .

Yeah mate, it did go for a little while! In theory, its a great idea to get people searching through the site!
I have no problem with PA running it again and I still have my prize sitting here on the shelf!
I'm no longer part of the 'management' so you would have to take it up with the current crew!
