How are you guys going to go without access to Oallen for 3 months when they close the road. I suppose coming from the south won't be too bad but coming from Sydney you would have to go through Nowra.

Anybody else going to put up their hand for a job on this project ?
Imagine camping onsite for 3 months , panning out the spoils from the clearing of the old bridge and causeway ....

if they give me the engineers drawings i could always offer to start digging the holes for the concrete piles

Haha, its kind of silly. No mechanical means to move dirt prospecting, oh wait we have to build a bridge and in come machines to move the same dirt, and all we are after is a few tiny little bits in it that would fit in a jar, the rest is not needed. Hopefully it gets someone more yellow in the pan, there is certainly a good chance it will change things up a little.

All going well a flood will hit just as the builders are digging out the foundations and approaches, pushing the freshly exposed gold ladden gravels down stream for you southerners to pick over for the next year or so

Cheers, Tone

Oallen Ford

I hear that they are starting the new bridge over the Shoalhaven river on the 8th of August. The old crossing is going to remain while they build the bridge it will be used as a bypass, but the area may be closed to the public Has anyone heard any more information..

Dam just when I am getting onto good gold.

Hi Greg,

At some point the road is going to closed for a period of time around October for 8-12 weeks from what I have read, as far as the new bridge foundations I expect that it will be fenced off , here is the plan for the new bridge - as you can see it will upstream of the existing causeway. There will be a lot of disturbed material around there, one may have to line up and take a number for an opportunity to see if there is any gold around the foundation works.

I will get some more photos on my way to Tuena next Friday.

Cheers
Barry
