Hey mickos. Ive spent a fair bit of time around 7 mile and have used the goldbug2 up there and as said before lots of horseshoe nails and the odd relic like chinese coins. The only gold ive found there is flour gold with the pan. Heard of rice size bits there but ive never seen one. Even the old reports on the place dont mention anything of size coming from the area. Plenty of flour though if you know where to look :) yeah plenty of hotrocks but ive got an ear for them with the gb2

hi mickos, I will be up that way in about july I have exterra 705, gpx 4500, gpx 5000 and sdc 2300, if you want to invite me up for a day i'm happy to show you the pros and cons. p.m. me. cheers mark.

Thanks for the offer Mark, I myself live in North Queensland but it's my parents who have moved to Nanango.
Any info you could provide on ground conditions would be very helpful like level of mineralisation.
I wish I was there to see the ground conditions to help them make the best decision.
I am leaning towards the Makro Gold racer I think for them, light and has the discrimination they would like to use. The reviews so far seem to be good for its mineralisation handling as well.
Cheers.

Planning on going to the diggings at Nanango. First time detecting for gold, just wondering the level of mineralisation of the ground there.
As I know the x terra 705 struggles & from research next to useless on highly mineralised ground, I'm thinking it might be low to moderate.
Would appreciate any info from those who have been in that area.
Has anyone camped at the caravan park in town?
Thanks in advance. GR
