Looks like part of a buckle to me. I helped grandkids and nieces detect at a family gathering so... no detecting for me. The kids found a few coins each, some of which I may or may not have planted.

Big thanks to Dave Law, for putting us onto some virgin turf this morning Dug my first whole bottle, screwtop, but I am keeping it as its my first. I also found a marble from an old bottle as well. Relics, horse bridle decoration, pocket watch, and spiggot. 1917 florin, 1946 florin, and 4 thrips.The pennies are really crusty, but fun to find. The other guys did great as well

Great spot by the looks of things, definitely a virgin area with a few silvers floating around, especially florins.

I dunno, I just soaked it for 5mins, nothing happened, so I rubbed it with bi-carb, some improvement, but back in clr now.

Be careful RKT that silver oxide coat(patina) won't come off easy, n I don't have a solution for that yet,... so go easy and don't ruin it on my behalf.

I'd say give the Galvanic method a go but it may make the coin a bit pinkish.
