I bought this westinghouse fridge 12-18 months ago second hand for $250 . I think its 470 litre
Great fridge , normal style /configuration . I suspect gas leak , compressor never stops running.
(Suspiciously i believe this was the reason it was sold by previous owner. Re-gas it and sell)
Have placed thermometers in both sections to monitor temps.
Freezer section (top) still maintains 3*, so have been using this as fridge for a bit over a week.
Repair could be costly as leak has to be found and would probably be a tiny pin hole and could be anywhere
Plus i live so remote the cheapest option is to take it to a repairer
So the dilema ... New fridge or another second hand
I was hoping for some DEFINITELY DO NOT BUY advice
And what fridge / brand you would reccomend
Thanks in advance

Goto harvey norman, stick one on interest free, not the dearest, but not the cheapest. They are all chinese these days, generic parts, and they all work well.

We usually buy factory 2nd's these days, usually it's only the carton that is damaged. Do you have a 2nd's World in Newcastle?
