Cheers David

Great pic, what kid didnt want an xr75 back in the 70s
Spent most my younger life racing motocross and enduros over east, mainly enduros, broke my neck when i was 30-31 which slowed me down a bit and hung the boots up at 35,just got tired of bangin the body up,used to do most state (nsw) titles lotsa club stuff etc, thumpernats was huge back then and a blast, only raced the A4DE once, had alot of different bikes but thought the best by far in the bush was the 2000 ktm400exc,it was fantastic through the scrub.....

Years ago when we had a trail bike club here where I live. We had 6 and 8 hour endurance races, I got low on petrol one day and a mate gave me some with methanol in it, far out what a difference that made. So after that used to put methanol in my tank, did that for quite a while until I over did it one day and the bottom end let go ...it wasn't a pretty sight inside the the crank case.

Hey Madtuna, so to you and OzzieAu and other duke fans, I still have this one...
I guess I'm a bit of a tomboy but I'm not butch or blokey, I just like stuff. Bogger those bikes were a bit hard to let go of, the BSA was left to me by my brother 11 years ago, but a nice man I work with bought both and he's polished them both up to gleaming and running beautifully and regularly keeps me updated, they're his now to do with as he wishes

First TT video was of a 600cc. This lap is on a 1000cc superbike. In the video guy martin mentions that his brain is going so fast during the race, that he can pick out faces in the crowds

My reactions are getting to sloooow. I would have crashed and burned on the first corner LOL ?

Nice Monster there FP, bet it sounds sweet with those Vance and Hines cans and handles like its stuck to the road. :Y:
It does sound grunty Oz, the hub and I put those cans on and we added heated hand grips so my delicate girly pinkies to stay warm and yes it hugs to road for sure. It's also for sale too tho because my sore right shoulder and elbow keep getting pins and needles in the low forward riding position. :(

Thats bad luck about having those physical issues and having to give up your beloved machines... takes the fun out of riding when ur hurting. Hope you do alright in the deal for it.
Cheers.

For the dirt squirters out there, one old memory:
Went up to oberon one day for a state endurocross,so just 10-12 min laps set out on grasstrack paddocks with bush sections inbetween, fastest times wins.
Yamaha had been racing the hand made yzm400s in gps and usa and then finally had a few preproduction bikes worldwide for marketing viewing etc, heard there was 2 in aust,i was allways a fourstroke nut even before the fourstroke revolution back then,so was pretty excited to hear of yamys new fourstroke mx bike.
Was pushin my bike (tricked up xr400) down to scrutineering and a bloke said hey check out the yz400 over there, well low and behold there was one of the preproduction bikes sitting against the fence, and there racing it! went and checked it out and just a bit gobblesmacked,a four stroke motor cant be that small!!??
The bloke riding it was very young, his first senior race out of juniors,Ben Grabham, was thinking wonder how this kids gonna go,i was in the same class, expert 400 four strokes,i was a mid packer in pro or experts couldnt mix it with top guys, well holy fark, can this kid go,he won the day outright and ill never forget the sound of that quick revving fourstroke in and out of the valley with that kid flappin off the back of it,he tore the grasstrack sections to pieces, lots of silence and jaws in dropped positions :)
