G'day all,
I've taken my new gold racer out 4 times in the last two weeks, no gold yet but having a ball just being out there, one thing I didn't really think about until it became a problem. Obviously some guys won't have the problem of changing aa batteries, I have just had that issue, and after looking at the ongoing cost was a bit of a tight fisted Scotsman, I delved into options at battery world and the fellas put me onto these. 4 rechargable aa's that charge by phone lead, and can be connected to either a PowerPoint charger while still in the detector or connected to a power bank while out on the fields, giving you basically a week of use. I've already bought them, not allowed to post a link yet but Google- znter 1.5 AA rechargable. Hope it helps.

Did your gold racer not come with rechargeables from new? I'm still running the green varta rechargeables that came with my racer 3 years ago. They probably don't have the capacity as they once did but I still get a full day out of them.

Nuggetino , no mate, came with varta industrial pro non rechargable, but I put them back in the racer today to see how much was left before I go out tomorrow, and they're showing full again lol, but have the znter ones now. Was just wondering if many had the same issue and how they got around it,

Anything that I own that has 'AA's' in it gets fitted with Eneloops, any batteries that came with the device get tossed. Eneloops will have 85% of their original power after 12 months of storage. I even look for products that use AA's as it simplifies battery replacement if needed in an emergency, any corner shop sells AA's.
