Has any body had any interference by their mobile phone while using their detector?

The recent limited use I have had with my new 705, I have always left the phone in the car.

I have spent the last few months researching a location in greater suburbia and I am planing to go for a treasure hunt soon.

But due to its location and the isolation of the spot I want to be able to have a handy access to help if I should require it.

My main concern is coming across a small dope plantation with the owners present.

I would like to be able to call for help without having to wait for the phone to boot up.

Does having a mobile phone on your hip affect the performance of the detector?

cheers

Bob

There is no problem in using Xterra 705 with Samsung galaxy s2. In fact I'm using phone FM radio to have a wireless connection with the detector.

I don't have any problems with my Samsung around my sdc but i know Chewys machine (a 5000? i think) went silly one day when i was trying to help him dig a nugget and i had my phone in my shirt pocket.

Just turn off data and Wi-Fi and you should be fine.
But if you stumble into a plantation with or without the owners present your phone won't help you.

I remember hearing stories of man traps and trip wires hooked up to shotguns ect were dope was growing.
So if ya see a plantation..... Go the opposite direction.
