Yes - went to their Mile End store yesterday - it was locked and all stock gone. So currently the city Minelab has its head office in (Adelaide) has no dedicated detector shop where you can go and review all their products and talk to a person who actual knows something about metal detectors and metal detecting. Looks like Minelab will be pushing for direct sales soon.

Hopefully Coden will see the folly of thier decision to stop the smaller operators from selling their products. Although SA isn't a great state for gold detecting, we have vast areas of historical history and settlement for treasure and coin detecting as well as heaps of great beaches to access as well.

Sad news for our SA members.
I note on Minelab's website that they have a section titled "Become a Dealer" and there is a form to fill in to apply for dealership. It asks things like other brands a prospective dealer would stock.
So, there would still be some hoops to jump through, but an opening seems to still be there.

I think they've already gone down that path in the USA.

I find Nenad the best person in SA to discuss things metal detecting.
yes exactly, and Minelab kicked him out as a dealer, you have to wonder about Codan/Minelab now days, FFS do they really think BCF and Anaconda can replace people like Nenad with good info and knowledge, I don't think so 🤔

Seems like there’s no direct point of sale for Minelab products in Adelaide anymore. For Nenad’s sake, here’s hoping that the forthcoming Nokta PI machines and AlgoForce detector’s can keep him in the game..... for our sake.
I don’t know if you can buy direct from Minelab’s Head Office at Mawsn Lakes in Adelaide.....it would be a good idea you’d think to have a hands on retail outlet in their home State ffs !

I spoke to Minelab Sales Head Office Adelaide yesterday. Currently you can't purchase direct from Minelab Adelaide and they don't have a showroom (theirs or dealership) where you can see all of their current products. Currently people in Adelaide/SA can purchase Minelab Detectors from
- Anaconda and BCF up to the Equinox900 and Goldmonster but not Manticore, SDC, GPX6000 and GPZ7000.
- RM Electronics at Naracoorte is the only certified dealer in SA that stocks / sells the full range of Minelab products. Naracoorte is about a 3 hour drive from Adelaide so not really viable for anyone except South East residents.
The Minelab rep agreed this is not an ideal situation and are reviewing.

Agree - Nenad at Phase Technical supports local detectorists and clubs giving unbiased advice and great service. Minelab have not done themselves any favours by revoking his dealership. Sometimes in life you have to eat humble pie and admit you were wrong - I am hoping Minelab can do this but i think they will head in another direction (direct sales).
