Autonomous gear is going to take over wether people are against or for it there's even hybrid gear in operation. Both of these technologies are saving the companies mega bucks on each shift. Quantity that annually and by the life of the machines it's a no brainer the bean counters won't accept anything less.

Not having to pay wages, FIFO, supper, annual leave entitlements, sick pay, variations to EBA's. On top of this the cost savings in fuel and maintenance is huge bucks and the bean counters are loving it.

As for the average Joe in our life time we will be driving self drive car's on all the major highways in the not too distant future.

yep agree with with ya there RM,thats the way its heading,there will be some situations where operators are still needed but one day that will probably be a small percentage.......
