Having a scratch about with our little dozer and it looks like 45s,gpz and sdc havent left much deeper at all at the moment, tested about 6 spots down to about 1-2ft last few days for little return,a bit of fun but hot and dusty, well a bit hot today was cooler last few days, our

dozer (thomas the tank) is like steppin into a pedal car after the ones from work we have, good for shallow scraping and clearing the scrub in potential areas, cuppla pics....

She'll pay for itself in no time on the right ground!

just to clarify, the ground has already been worked on surface? Ya can't expect much but slim pickings then till you scrape off? Just my thoughts, meh.

thats correct, bit more testing here an there but weve hit spots we thought were priority down deeper then what you see there for zilch,no gold seems to be in the caprock and it sits on it mostly, weve done ok on this ground but sometimes its just shallow deposits
yes it will tuna but not on this block by the looks, unless ya get serious and chase it 20-30+ mtrs? into the saprolite type stuff, big gear big dolars on a hunch, bloody gold!!!! :)

overlaying data from one source to the other in simplist terms.

cutting a section from one and being able to merge it into the other.

for WA you would be using a combination of tengraph, gov air surveys, pdf compiled maps, old timer references.

there is plenty of area not under surveys still though.

by gov surveys I mean the magnetics/iron index/quartz index/radiation/drill holes/mine site reports.

You might have to borrow the dozer from work GC and I bet they come with a/c. :)

doug ya killing me,we have 2-854k cats then a fleet of d10s and one new remote control d11,i get around in a 854 now,100 ton, amfm etc etc, your about 2 stories up.
i wouldnt have a 1 layer of oxide on me,could listen to the cricket etc, every small tree wouldnt be trying to kill me in the cab :) cuppla pushes and youd be down a 3-4 ft if ya wanted,tilt-rotate blades,oh i gotta stop,im gonna cry :)
think something older ($$$$ budget) with a cab about d5-6 size would be pretty good, maybe one day.....

marli au,thanks, there is a shear zone through this area, surveys would of been done id say, havent checked, been detecting it for 3+ yrs so we know where the runs of gold are,the shear zone led me to this spot 3-4yrs ago.....

I know what you mean as I normally sit in a D11 most shifts. Last week we had one vent fuel everywhere when refuelling and instantly went up when the fuel hit the turbo. The refueller had it out immediately and another one blew out the bung on a rear idler and all the grease/oil went up. No real damage either.

They would certainly be a big help where you are if you could get hold of one.

Cheers

Is that remote controlled D11 a brand new one or is it the one sold by Anglo Coal in Muswellbrook NSW last August ?

I know what you mean by not feeling the machine / body interface but they usually use them for hazardous locations dont they ?

Fukushima ?

Lol that was silly of them . Now everything will have a golden glow including the operators .

There used to be a lot of used gear coming out of Japan but now there is massive numbers of machines in aus that nobody wants , especially if they are way out whoop whoop . If the transport cost is higher than the machine Value then they cant even get more than $3000 - 10,000 each for Cat 773 , 777 or Komatsu 785 trucks ( with moderate to high hours) .

The sad thing is that a lot of trucks sitting idle were doing so because of poor mechanical diagnostic talent , not poor quality machines.

Unreal headsup didnt know of an over supply of equipment, trucks are probably the hardest bit of gear to move on surely, graders, dozers, loaders allways a market for them somewhere nearby outside the mining game,in the scheme of things trucks are just large wheelbarrows to these multi billion dollar companies i think......
