my missus gave me a slap last night so hard that i saw multiple stars .... don`t know if was any meteorit tho ...
Might have been you talking in your sleep?

was still awake ..... out of nowhere ..... bang ... didn`t even had time to react ....

Reports about the incident are on the evening news and online news media. So far they are saying that the flash of light was most likely due to a near miss by a meteor, and that the tremors were not due to an earthquake. None of the online earthquake type sites have reported the incident, USGS is current, but Oz site is a few days old.

not sure whether I heard it or not - sounded like a door downstairs slammed around 8:30 and thought it was the young bloke who has his room downstairs! He was sleeping so it wasnt his door ......

On the same note a big meteorite hit the hill behind the Botanical Gardens here 80-100 or so year ago. The storey is they rolled the biggest piece into a dam and buried it. A piece that had been cut off another larger piece of the asteriod was used as a door stop at the Grand Hotel - not sure what happened to it - but I keep me eyes open when we're speccing that area :)

Was that is Brisbane?

Media are reporting it hit...it didn't...it splashed, landed in the ocean.

The boom heard shortly after people witnessed the meteor was a sonic boom as the meteoroid penetrated the atmosphere at about 60km Altitude. This meteor event would have been an excellent candidate to recover meteorites, except for the simple fact that it occurred over the ocean. Social and mainstream media reporting of this has been atrocious, which is typical and no different to other large witnessed meteor events.

They are an amazing site to see when they are close.
I seen one a few years back and it left a coloured trail across the whole sky above me in Sydney and it was reported as landing down near Albury way .
