Good day on the silvers, florin and sixpence were together in a spill.
The 22 thrip was really deep, I gave up with my hand trowel and came back with small shovel. Would have been at least 10" deep, good clear repeatable signal sound but did not register on the TDI, is that what others have found with coins on the limit of the machine?

Nice finds mate.I had that happen once it would not give an
I D so I just hit pinpoint on and off and the ID came straight up. :Y:

Found a coupple of uninteresting spoons over the Chrissy break.
This got me to thinking, how can I tell if any are silver spoons if the hallmark is missing, in my case the handle is completely gone?
I know from the location that the larger one is quiet old, middle spoon is not silver, states stainless on the reverse. And left one I have no idea, just shiny.
I found some other more interesting finds over the break, just cleaning them now to post later tonight.

First hunt for the new year today and had a cracker.
Awsome weather and plenty of targets at a new spot.
The 17 shilling is my first old shilling so I was pretty happy when that popped out. 94 coins in total, should have stayed for a few more to make the ton lol. Plenty there still

OH my LORD thats a great day out 94 coins in one day I dont think there is a park near me that would have any where near that many coins in it let alone pulling 94 in a day well done thete LORD

Good to see someone persisting through all those BBs, youre not going to leave any predecs behind doing that. Great haul :Y: .

Decided to go for a quick swing after I put the kids to bed as its light for so long now with daylight savings.
Back to my usual park/field that always gives just one or 2 good finds a trip.
Was happy with another dog tag, 1902 /3
And bore war peace medal 1900.
Can anyone shed light what the object is with the white do
me surface?

Gday goldtrapper, I run a custom modified setting for coins so the tones are what I have set up.
They were all in the low 20's TDI, from say 20 to 24 but depth indicator usually indicated shallow so I sort of knew before I dug them but I dont mind.
I get some pre decimals in that TDI range too so i just dig everything over a certain number depending on how much junk is around, 20 or 21 in this case as the 50% sixpence were falling in there.
I only dug a couple of targets that flicked between 16 &17 as I know there the 50% threepence and ended up with 2 from 5 dug, if its sold 17 I left it as was usually junk.
One day I may go over and dig the lower numbers in hope of missed threepence, gold rings or even sovereign but happy to cherry pick the high tones at the moment as the area is huge and targets everywhere :power:
