In the same vein a Canadian bloke travels out each year to Bluesfest at Byron and sweeps the venue ground each morning before the concerts start for dropped coin. He says it pays for his meals and drinks for the day.

I have just been reading about council workers asking detectorists to leave parks. This has raised a question for me and that is do we need a Miners Rite to fossick and detect on beaches and parkland?

If I were in VIC, I'd just get an annual miners permit anyway, at least you are covered then, even if you don't technically require one for beaches etc. You certainly have a better system in VIC for detectorists than in SA. :)

Good idea Gold pick it has been a few years since having one, thanks.
