No mate, nothing in that one, though she has been known to dig a few herself.
Cheaper than a gym membership she says, and more rewarding, like this one.

Unfortunately all we can do is to lead by example. You just can't fix some people. We stopped at a truckstop to find a local fruit merchant dumping his produce and the boxes it was in. We walked up to him shooting off photos and demanded he reload the van with his rubbish. He wasn't happy but went ahead and loaded the van. We wanted to report him but it was several days before we could make it to town.

I can't remember the location now. It was 7th July 2013.

I just had to ask Mrs M (the one who knows everything) and it took her all of five minutes to come up with the location.

Cattle Creek (now Bungeworgorai) near Mt Abundance, five miles west of Roma. There is nothing on the site now but the creek crossing is still known to locals as the Bungee Crossing

It looks more like the local dump than an overnight parking spot. Some of the responsibility should lie with the local authorities. Every truckstop needs some sort of rubbish disposal and at least a pota-toilet. This was one thing I noticed in Hawaii. Every beach and parking area had bins and at least one portable toilet.

Not filling your holes is just shear laziness from selfish people that think the rules are for others.

If you have enough energy to dig the hole, refill it as best you can, it does not have to be perfect. Give it a go, its not hard?

I don't want anyone to know where I ve been digging up gold so I leave it as best I can, it takes 10 seconds.

I agree its not a big issue, so just do it.

The same people are unlikely to come to a complete stand at STOP signs, every time. Same people talk on their phones or check out facebook whilst driving. Two of my pet hates. People die because of both, yet people are too complacent to care. Rules are for others, not me!

Rant over.

Im all for name and shame..but.
Maybe you should black out the number plate?

I think it's a little hard to name and shame if you take the identity away...

We are not a lynch mob either.
What if his wife or employee are driving and someone with a grudge see the number plate and decides to pull them over and give em a mouthfull....or worse?

Those big holes left like that a just bloody dangerous. What are they thinking leaving big holes like that open. If you have a machine to dig it, then surely it wouldn't be a problem filling it back in. I can not believe the laziness of some people.

Ok LC76, got you're point but it's these lowlife's that leave almost every place you visit littered. We do Geocaching, that's a worldwide treasure hunt where we use our GPS to find things hidden throughout the world. When we hide a geocache we take care to make sure the location is clean and tidy. I feel ashamed when I get a report from an international traveller shocked by rubbish left in what used to be a beautiful location. In many cases it's excrement and paper behind the bushes in just about every roadside stop or non-city tourist destination.

It doesn't help that almost all local shires charge for rubbish disposal tempting people to take the cheaper option.
