I think I picked up some dodgy diesel on the way to meet ya. Well I'm hoping it's only bad diesel. I made it to Waanyarra, than thought I'd better pull the pin and head home. I woke up this morning and my fourby wouldn't start
I'm glad it made it the 3.5 hour trip home under it's own steam and not on the back of a flatbed tow truck. Spewin I didn't find any gold to show for my journey. But them's the brakes.This morning was great detecting weather and I gotta say I'm not quite acclimatised to detecting in 34 degree heat yet. Next time I head out there, I'll have a pair of gaiters/shorts and possibly a fly net
I'm not sure if I was annoyed because of the horde of flies or the fact I was sweating my ar#e off walking around in pants and the flies just topped it off. This prospecting caper is pretty addictive. I can remember thinking to myself, JUST ONE MORE PIECE. I JUST NEED ONE MORE PIECE FOR THE SEASON. Lol!!! All this while swatting at flies like a mad man. Lucky no one could see me I woulda looked like a freak I hope you guy's had more luck than me

Found the problem, two burnt out diodes in my ECU.

I haven't been able as yet to find a decent circuit board diagram to find what "said" diodes are for. I think they must be for either the injector pump or glow plugs. I just gotta keep searching :/GypsyGoldAu said:Glad ya caught that, and that it wasn't a fuel problem as previously thought...

From my limited knowledge, you should still be able to restore/repair it enough so that it will work.

Could be an issue finding thier value unless you can find another pic on gewgle that shows the color bands to indentify what they were
The first thing I'd be doing is replacing them and also checking all capacitors for black / leaks too. The can be replaced by buying them from jaycar for 20c ea or so and soldering in new ones ( while its unplugged from the power )

Don't be :8 , but the obvious sign was the 'R' written under the components on the circuit board
Don't forget to find what caused the problem before you fix it, I have been caught before where I have replaced a part just to see it blow again.

I dono when I can get up there im off work at the moment and have no car but I could catch 2 trains and meet someone in Bendigo maybe ? that's the cosiest place I can get to without a car but happy to pay for fuel money if someone was able to give me a lift
