Just starting out

Hi All,

I am just starting out and was hitting Google hard for maps and info and the forum popped up,
So hear I am.

I have two small sons' the eldest 5 needs to be separated from his brother from time to time, we were golf ball hunting and spotted in a stream, a small picker as you veterans would call it, now he is obsessed and so am I to be honest.

I'm interested in gold and gems and live in the Pitt town area, any recommendations for my first trip with my 5 year old would be appreciated.

G'day GR welcome to PA that is a top intro story :Y: are you wanting to detect or sluice /pan for gold. As Goldtrapper said keep the location to yourself and when you get sorted go back and dig (if it's legal) in mate.

Hi RM outback,

To start with I'm looking to pan/sluice some crevices, but eventually get a get a detector and get into that also.

I'm looking for an accessible spot to get the young bloke out of the house. Appreciate the advice, I'll also be heading out remote by myself, so any interesting spots would be great also.
