Years ago I got hold of an el cheapo detector at a garage sale and took my two sons and it to Kosciosko National Park for a camping holiday. Before I eventually caused it to fail by immersing it in a river, I did find about ten silver sixpences, one of which was a Queen Victoria one.......a bit on the worn side......but nevertheless....the real thing.
Now being retired, I am off to Tassie and hope to get hold of a second hand unit I can safely use in water as well as out of it!
Probably a stupid question.....but I am wondering if anyone in the Forum knows of any gold fossicking areas in Tassie that have produced a return?
