As Murphy says, **** happens ......
couple of buckets of wash panned out for a miserly half dozen or so flaky pieces (nothing near a picker).
Had a small 10" pan with a little water next to me into which I was releasing them (rather than straight into bottle).
Left it out to have a bite to eat ........ bloody birds came and used it as a birdbath.
Guess you live and learn.....
Luckily still have a bucket or so to pan so hopefully there'll be some small reward.
Cheers Tom

That's so sad that it's hilarious, :D note to self, stick brick in Pan / birdbath while having lunch. :D Hope the next bucket made up for it mate.

Cheers Wal.

thats one i hadnt thought of

already seen the dog drinks water from goldpan trick 8.(

and the sucker bottle that gets its nozzle jammed and when i squeezed too hard . . . WHOOSH !

the resulting rush of water blows the gold out of the pan all over the workshop floor 8.(

you have my sympathy

Funny but sad :) I had similar disaster - after a clean out Chris&Dozer shouts Joe come and have some chicken :) put my pan on top of the bucket (with about a gram+) had brunch and forgot about my pan, kicked in the highbanker and before I knew it bucket started floating and tipped with the pan. 8.( So the lesson I have learned is snuff it up to be sure to be sure :)

About 15 years ago I was showing someone some small nuggets I found at Tibooburra. We were in the lounge, which at that stage had thick shag pile carpet, when I dropped the little display case. Got all back bar 2 little flat ones. I could not use the detector to locate them because of the mesh in the raft slab. :( Found one more years latter when I pulled up the carpet and beat it out on the clothes line. The other one probably made it to freedom via the vacuum cleaner.

Thanks for your words of sympathy guys, just pleasing to see I'm not the first fool to have stuffed up in some small way, some interesting losses there, thanks
Cheers Tom
