Hi,
Thank you for letting me join. Have always been a digger since I was a kid digging up old dumps for cool finds. Have a bit of family history to do with gold. My great grandfather was Walter Hay who blazed the trail from Noosa/Teewantin to Gympie for the 1800’s gold rush. He also sunk a shaft on the way but found nothing. When he lived on a nearby station he supposedly found a nice nugget and threw it away saying “That’s not for me!” All a bit strange but interesting none the less. Have been very interested in gold prospecting for about three years. Found my first nugget at Deep Creek then accidentally flicked it into the flood grass and never found it.My husband and I are in a number of Facebook groups and really enjoy the company of those who prospect. My dream is to get a high-end detector and remain fit enough to prospect and slow travel this great nation of ours.
